Emeco was founded in 1944 by C. Witton Dinges. The manufacturing process of Emeco was the result of collaboration with ALCOA to develop a chair for military use, durable yet lightweight, for the U.S. Navy's famous Navy chair, recently reissued in a new version made from PET bottles from recycled Coca-Cola.
